The U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) announced that employee benefit plans must comply with a previously delayed final rule on disability claims procedures by April 1, 2018. The rule is intended to give America’s workers new procedural protections when dealing with plan fiduciaries and insurance providers that deny their claims for disability benefits.
