The Employee Assistance Program is a benefit offered by many employers to help employees and their family members when they are struggling with work or personal challenges. EAP specialists like Melissa Tran ask questions of callers to find out all about what’s going on in people’s lives and then work on plans for making changes or improvements. EAPs offer a combination of face-to-face counseling, online resources, financial and legal consultations, and help locating supportive resources right in the caller’s community. EAP specialists are available to individuals whose employers offer the EAP benefit 24 hours a day, seven days a week, every day of the year.
